Map information is believed to be accurate, but accuracy is not guaranteed. Any errors or omissions should be reported to the Prince George County GIS Office and Assessors office. The county is not liable for any damages arising from the use of this data.

Tax parcel polygons can differ from actual lot lines, particularly for condominiums or parcels comprised of multiple lots under a single owner. The maxScale is set to 5,000 and minScale to 500,000, meaning detailed parcel viewing works best at close-zoom map extents typical of property research.

Land Use Program

Prince George County has adopted the State Land Evaluation Advisory Council (SLEAC) rates since 1976. The Land Use Program allows qualifying property to be taxed at use value rather than fair market value. Properties enrolled in the Land Use Program for FY2025 had their use-value assessment included in the assessment notice.

If a revalidation form is not submitted by the late deadline of July 1, 2025, the property will be removed from the Land Use Program for FY2026. The adopted FY2026 land use-value assessment rates are based on a three-year average of the SLEAC values.

For questions about eligibility, current rates, or the application process, contact the Commissioner of the Revenue's office. The office can confirm whether a parcel qualifies under the criteria set in the Code of Virginia, including minimum acreage and active use requirements.

Free Property Search Tools

Prince George County offers multiple free online search options. You can search property tax and assessment records by owner name, tax ID, street address, or neighborhood number. A real estate sales search lets you look up sales records by date range, property class, number of stories, or area number.

Real Property Landbooks for Prince George County are also available online. You can view taxable and tax-exempt properties by name or account number. These landbooks are official records of property values and tax levies maintained by the Commissioner of the Revenue.

Note that the mailing contact in the database may not match the ownership as recorded in deeds with the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Over the years, various databases have stored information in ways that only display the first of multiple owners. If you need all owners of record, check the Circuit Court deed records directly.

Properties exempt from taxation have a use code starting with 7 in the assessor's database. No tax levy applies to these properties, although the database displays what the tax liability would be if the property were not tax-exempt. This is useful for comparative research.
