Circuit Court Clerk - Land Records and Secure Remote Access

The Circuit Court is the trial court with the broadest powers in Virginia. It handles all civil cases with claims of more than $15,000 and shares authority with the general district court for matters involving between $4,500 and $15,000. Terms of Court begin on the first Wednesday in January, April, July, and October. Motion Day is the Tuesday after the second Monday of each month.

Land records are available through Secure Remote Access. New subscriptions to view images can be purchased by completing the subscriber agreement and returning it with payment to the Circuit Court Clerk's Office at 116 South Court Street, Suite A, Luray, VA 22835. Effective April 10, 2024, all payments made with a credit or debit card incur a 2.81% fee. Cash, money orders, cashier's checks, and personal checks are still accepted with no fee.

The portal also allows you to prepay real estate or personal property taxes before bills are issued, pay landfill charges, pay business license fees, and pay consumer taxes such as lodging and meals taxes.

Inquiry options include Real Estate Public Inquiry to view payment history and Personal Property Inquiry to view payment history. You can also look up yearly totals for real estate taxes paid and personal property taxes paid. The portal allows you to sign up for eBills to receive email notification when new bills are produced.
